Experienced fire pump engineer
We are hiring experienced fire pump engineers with an eye for detail
We are looking for other talented field service fire pump engineers to join our experienced team. The new engineers must already have a firm grasp of the industry and be ready to get started without any training; this includes having a working knowledge of common industry standards like LPCB and UL/FM. The applicant should also be experienced in working with, and servicing, diesel engines, as part of a fire pump set.
This role will be covering London and its surrounding counties, so easy access to the M25 would be beneficial. The ideal location for the fire pump engineer would be within one hour of London.
Please note: this position requires the ability to work in various locations, including construction sites, commercial buildings, and residential properties.
Our clients include market leading manufacturers and companies from across the UK.
Position overview
- Servicing, repairs, installation of fire pumps, diesel engines, jockey pumps, control panels and other fire pump plant room equipment
- Advise line managers and scheduling department if you will have a problem getting to an allocated job
- Carrying out risk assessments on jobs as required and raise any concerns with line manager
- Routine maintenance and repairs of existing equipment
- Setting up and commissioning of new equipment
- Providing feedback on parts used in line with procedures to complete a task
- Liaise with customers on site
- Days working from our workshop in Chatham’s dockyard
- Occasionally assisting our non-fire pump engineers on works/projects
Position requirements
- 5+ years experience working with fire pumps and diesel engines
- A working knowledge of industry standards; LPCB and UL/FM.
- Fault finding, diagnostics, repairs and working on control panels
- Qualifications in either electrical or mechanical disciplines
- Proven ability to fault find in a range of demanding environments
- Full UK driving licence
Position remuneration
- Basic salary starting at £45K, depending on experience
